games at the dinner table...

today, cole thought that peek-a-boo was more interesting for lunch than his meal. i guess when you're 14 months old, a bib can be a fun source of entertainment. hiding (or avoiding eating, i'm not sure which)
there's that sweet little face!
cole DID eat most of his lunch, so i'm pleased with that. i know he hasn't been feeling the best the past week or so, with a runny nose and now he's got a little hint of a cough. one of those clingy colds, i'm guessing. he's walking almost all of the time now... i can hardly believe, less than three weeks ago he took his first independent steps! wow- they get the hang of things really fast. anyway, i realized the other day that i no longer hear the constant "slap-thud" of little hands and knees on the floor- now it's a gentle "pad-pad-pad". sometimes i don't hear him coming and just about jump out of my skin because there's this little less-than-three-feet-tall person that appears out of nowhere. very sneaky indeed. so- the walking has progressed rather nicely, and now he's into trying to get things off the countertop. those little fingers can just reach the counter and table tops, so we're running out of safe places to put things. he's not far from figuring out how to scale the baby gates, too- he knows that he can get a little leverage if he puts his toes up on the latch bar. ooooooh boy. i think my days of occassional sprinting are numbered, soon to be replaced by constant running.
