first word?? maybe...

kelvin was watching some hunting thing on the computer last night, and cole thought he should sneak a peek too. actually, he more or less tried to jump into it... guess it was just that realistic!i love the look of concentration on cole's face...

watching the school traffic out the window this morning; it keeps him totally quiet for a long time! typical little boy, fascinated by cars and trucks!
i have NO idea what he was this excited for but it makes a good photo. anyway, i don't really know for sure if it's really a word or if he's just making random sounds, but sometimes it sounds like cole is saying "truck". he makes this little "tuh" sound, but it's not necessarily when he sees a truck. i don't know- maybe it's his first word, maybe not. either way, it's sure cute! what's not as cute is when i say "cole, say mama. where's mama?" and he looks at me, gets a big grin and says "dada!!". ok, so it's downright adorable, but i swear, this kid will NEVER say mama, the way he's going! however, the walking thing is going really well... we've had his thomas shoes on since the floor is usually pretty chilly and they're not slippery like his socks, but today he was cruising around pretty well with just his socks! it's better for his feet and development if he doesn't have his shoes on, but he's constantly bumping into things, part of me wants him in shoes to avoid any more bumps and falls than he's getting already... this kid is a total klutz! takes after me that way... actually, he's not that bad, he just gets too excited and gets ahead of himself. or something like that! amazingly, his only bad boo-boo was from his fall on saturday; everything else seems to be pretty superficial, most of the time leaving only a red mark for an hour or so. and the tears usually last a minute or so... he's pretty tough!
