go ahead, think me to be neurotic for making cole's shells 'n' cheese with bottled water. i'd label me as slightly highstrung too, unless i saw this:
that would be our tap water.
doesn't look that bad, right?
doesn't look that bad, right?
look again.
this time, a glass of bottled water for comparison...
it's less noticeable in photos because of the lighting, flash, etc., but let me tell you, there is NO way my kids are getting any of that water. no way.

psh.
it was no different four years ago.
i have some major issues with the city water here, and now i have photographic evidence to back myself up.
really- as i listen to the sounds of my giggling children while i rant about the bad water, i'm committed to boiling their mac 'n' cheese, veggies and anything else in bottled water, if i have to. they're too precious to fill with nasty water.
then, i look in on them to see what it is that is SO hysterical and see cole bouncing his mickey mouse ball off of madison's head (while she's sitting in her highchair) and think maybe they've ingested a little too much of the wacky watah already??
ew.

i grew up on that water...explains alot, doesn't it?;0)
could it be your pipes? also, if you are boiling it, doesn't that purify the water?
I'm with you on this one Lindsay.. We have well water, but only drink distilled water.
We figure the chemicals they dump into city water don't need to be in our kids..
And city (chlorinated/fluorinated- spelling?!) water has been linked to many health issues with children. So why bother with it? The extra $$ we spend on water is worth the piece of mind, for us.
I'm glad we have an artesian well...we just have to filter it to get the iron out, but it's much cheaper than bottled water.
heather t: you crack me up!
heather s: yeah, we grew up on well water and i have no doubt it was better for us.
amber: it's definitely cheaper than bottled, if you can filter!!
anonymous: hi, whoever you are! we have a filter that we bought when we were living in arizona, but it doesn't fit on our taps here because we have seperate hot and cold taps and both of them are outdoor faucets, like what you hook a hose up to, so they're too wide to fit on a tap filter. it's not really our pipes since sometimes it's worse... plus i used to babysit here in town and their tap water was the same way.
ewww nasty. yeah, don't be feeding my neice and nephew that please! xoxo :)
