your "awww!" moment for the day

sponsored by the laundry detergent of your choice... mine is tide with febreze. great for those ginormous loads of icky burp rags. ahhh, life with a spitter. anyway, despite the fact that madison slept for a good seven-hour stretch (sorry, elissa... wanna trade??), i'm still too tired to come up with something remarkably witty. could it possibly be due to the fact that i took both kids to meeting by myself last night? maybe... we managed to sit through the entire thing without much trouble and so it's probably just the mental worry about the whole thing that has me exhausted yet. or it could be the fact that our sweet little "squish" is only 3 weeks old, meaning that we're still within the normal "mommy's too tired" range. at least i THINK we're still in it... really, i can't complain- it's going well!!a little sibling bonding...

cole's always fascinated with madison... it's so cute!

it only LOOKS like cole's gouging her eye out- he's not, really.
anyway, kelvin's back to work today... yesterday i came home, scrubbed the bathroom, washed the sheets, all that good stuff. cole was happy to have daddy home to entertain him; with a few tweaks, it's amazing how many 'games' can be played sitting down! kelvin didn't have to waste too much energy and cole was reasonably satisfied with the level of entertainment daddy provided. understandably, he stayed home from meeting last night so he could recuperate a little more before heading to work again. i have to say, i was a bit leary about attempting meeting by myself, but i figured if the ride there went badly, we could just turn around and come right home. it all went great, though! big thanks to scott, julie and the rest of the family for entertaining cole so i could feed madison- really appreciate it! cole didn't go to sleep till about 10.30, though... probably a combination of his extra-long nap in the afternoon and the fact that he slept most of the way home after meeting. yeah- it's pretty unusual for him to not fall asleep before 9.30 (sometimes he just takes longer to wind down, so he chatters to himself in his crib), so i was a bit concerned that either he was NEVER going to sleep (argh, not this again!!) or that he was getting sick. his little voice eventually petered out and he slept all night, but he was up fairly early for having gone to bed so late. maybe a nice long nap again today? we'll see! if it's in the cards, maybe there's a chance that i can take a snooze too... maybe even a shower to myself? oh boy, i'd feel SO spoiled!! :)
