it's official...

we're having a baby!
of course, pretty much everyone already knew that, but my prenatal appointment yesterday really made it seem real. at least, for me... there's nothing like hearing that little heartbeat.
that's always what makes it real for me.
everything's going well, according to dr h; and i even lost a few pounds.
not that i was TRYING. it just sort of happened. between some persistent queasies and a nice little virus (sore throat, aches, chills, headache, occasional low-grade fever and no appetite), i guess i should have expected it.
it's funny- i was expecting this pregnancy to be similar to my pregnancies with cole and madi...
with both of them, i was nauseous in the evenings and was able to sleep it off. i was starved during most of the day, craving cheese (usually) and by 9 or 10 weeks, had gained about 5-ish pounds.
i know that every pregnancy is different, but since cole's and madi's were so similar i kind of thought that this one would be the same.
i could do without the nausea, but the lack of instant weight gain is rather nice!
anyway, now that i've heard baby's heartbeat and it's all of a sudden "REAL", i feel a tad bit overwhelmed.
which is normal too... hormonal rollercoaster and all.
not only do i find myself mentally connecting with the lil peanut, i've been daydreaming about the moment he or she actually arrives. i should say that only part of it is daydreaming- the rest is memories from when cole and madi were born. feelings and sensations that you can't really describe. i mean, how DO you describe those first few days? it's pretty impossible- and i LOVE those memories.
now, i can't wait for some new memories...
welcome to our lives, little one- see you in 30 weeks (give or take)!
we love you already

we love you too, little one!!
its so different with each one, huh? in the very beginning, you are doing nothing but "wondering", and then when time passes, you get to "remember"!! and there's no telling how it will all happen, but the reassuring thing is, is that it "somehow" all will happen!
thinking of you, lindsay!! i love you!
