we've been told it's monsoon season here in arizona. that basically means lots of heat and sun with brief interruptions of wind, thundershowers or other random not-so-pleasant weather. last evening it was SO dark in all direction except a little spot to the west where the sun was setting- it was SO neat!

to the south, it gets a bit darker, no pretty colors...
annnnd.... to the east, where there was quite a bit of lightening. you can barely see it on the right edge of the photo, but there's a streak of lightening that happened to flash the same time i snapped the photo. wish i had been a little to the right... bummer! it's kind of unique weather, especially for us, being from wisconsin. as i was standing outside (about 7.30 pm), the wind was blowing, it was HOT, the sky was really dark but as you can see, the setting sun really lit up the houses, making everything kind of glow. not very often that we get to see this kind of thing! and yes, it thundered, rained, lighteninged (is that a word??) and carried on... for a little while.
